I'm using photoshop cs3, yeah. I hadn't ever used it before this year. I actually started making icons because my boss wanted me to get familiar with the program.
I'm glad you can tell that I've been working on keeping the oversaturation to a minimum. There is a hug difference between #8, which I cropped from one of the first colorizations I did, and #10, which is from the same image but toned down quite a bit.
I've been playing with borders a bit. I keep forgetting, saving the image and moving on to the next one without adding a border, but I do like the effect. The icons I have made today are here (http://s100.photobucket.com/albums/m13/creativescreenname/yet%20more%20icons/?start=all). (I'm not posting them yet, as I have a few friends who are picking out the ones they want first.) As you can see, my use of borders is sporadic, though a fair portion were made before we started this conversation.
My latest project is figuring out screencapping, to get the images I want. (I've been trying the automatic vlc screencapping, but am having difficulties.)
